(Dec 29) Marrakech - High Atlas –Valle del Dadés
Pick up at 8 in the morning at the Hotel / Riad where you are staying in Marrakech to head towards the High Atlas Mountains, sub-mountain range of the Moroccan Atlas crossing the Port of Tizi-N´Tichka, where we will make several stops to appreciate its beautiful views Panoramic and take pictures of the Berber villages that camouflage with the color of the earth. We will continue to the Valley of the Roses passing through the Great Palm Grove of Skoura where we can admire the more than 700 palm trees and the great concentration of kasbahs that spread throughout the oasis and its surroundings, later we will reach the Valley of Roses, as its name indicates it is a beautiful valley where the most beautiful damask roses are grown to make cosmetic products such as the much appreciated rose water. In this Valley once a year and in the month of May the Musseum of Las Rosas is celebrated. We will arrive at the Dades Valley where we will spend the night
(Dec 30): Dades Valley - Todra Gorges - Merzouga Dunes - Night in Haimas
After breakfast, we can enjoy one of the best views of the Dades Valley. We will do it from one of the most strategic places that the mountains offer us. From there we can observe the amount of kasbahs that are there and how picturesque each one of them is. After making several stops along the way, we will arrive at the Todra Gorges. Located near the city of Tineghir, they give way to the desert. Surrounded by a valley full of palm trees and adobe villages, here are the mountains most appreciated by climbing enthusiasts. These faults of Todra and Dades are the best known and also the most impressive in Morocco. After a walk in the Todra Gorges and lunch in Tinejdad or Touroug, we leave for the desert to reach the impressive dunes of Merzouga where we will depart in a caravan of dromedaries in a journey of approximately one hour to reach our nomadic haimas, located in the middle of a sea of dunes (Erg Chebbi), we take the opportunity to see one of the most impressive sunsets that you have ever seen before. Dinner and night in Haimas nomads in the heart of the desert under a spectacular blanket of stars.
(Dec 31): Merzouga - Khamlia - Nomadic Villages - Erg Chebbi Desert
Today will be a day of Total Desert. We will wake up before dawn to watch the sunrise from the Great Dune. Return in dromedaries to the town of Merzouga. After a copious and rich breakfast, we will surround the dunes of the Erg Chebbi, an expanse of sand desert where the Great Dune of Morocco is located, more than 250 meters high, and connect by track with part of the route followed by the old Paris -Dakar and with the mountains that border Algeria in the background. Stop at the Tissardmine oasis where we can find Fossil races that are still in this region and we will continue to a nomadic settlement where we will know some of its secrets and customs. Later stop at a panoramic point where we can see the Erg Chebbi as a whole. We will arrive at the village of Khamlia, originally from Mali, where we will relax with tea while enjoying a small concert of spiritual music from Gnawa. Return to the Hotel and free afternoon to walk around the town or climb the nearby dunes to take advantage of the sunset. WE WILL RECEIVE THE YEAR IN THE DESERT
(Jan 1): MERZOUGA - ALNIF - TAZARINE –NKOB –VALLE DEL DRA - AGDEZ OUARZAZATE
Whoever is encouraged can get up early to welcome the day. After breakfast we will start again the route to head towards Ouarzazate, passing through the villages of Alnif, the oasis of Tazarine, Nkob until we reach the Draa Valley where we will make several stops to enjoy this beautiful Valley that runs along the river that leads the same name. It is the longest river in Morocco and crosses the whole country to our neighboring country in the south, which is Mauritania in more 240km. We will cross the Anti-Atlas to reach Ouarzazate a landscape full of contrasts, palm trees and colors. Ouarzazate is known as the great gate of the desert and whose name in Berber means without noise or without Confusion.
(Jan 2): OUARZAZATE - AIT BEN HADDOU - ROUTE OF THE THOUSAND KASBAH - MARRAKECH
In the morning we will visit the city of Ouarzazate. Ouarzazate is a city south of Morocco’s High Atlas Mountains, known as a gateway to the Sahara Desert. We will visit its huge Taourirt Kasbah, home to a 19th-century palace and old residence of the Glaoui or Marrakech pasha, it has amazing views over the rugged local landscape, and Ait Ben Haddou, an ighrem (fortified village), and traditional Mud Brick city on the edge of the High Atlas Mountains. It is on the UNESCO World Heritage List and has been featured in many films including Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, Game of Thrones and many others. We initiate our return to Marrakech, driving through the High Atlas Mountains enjoying the “One Thousand Kasbahs Road”. We continue on to the Tizi Ntichka Pass, that with 2.260m it is the highest point in our country. Finally we arrive in Marrakech, the Red City, in the evening. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
